Chronicle Collectibles will be the exclusive U.S. retailer for EFX’s Mandalorian prop helmet replica. One of the biggest areas of the Star Wars franchise, of course, is the merchandise. The days of Kenner’s infamous empty box campaign are well in the past, as now just about anything consumers can think of has an officially-licensed Star Wars product, tapping into fans’ unbridled love for the series. And with new Star Wars projects coming out at a greater clip than ever, there are plenty of opportunities for Lucasfilm’s partners to get in on the fun and make the next can’t-miss item.
This fall, Star Wars is making its much-anticipated leap to live-action TV with The Mandalorian, an exclusive series for the Disney+ streaming service. It introduces a bevy of new characters to the canon, including Pedro Pascal’s titular Mandalorian. According to Jon Favreau, the show was created in part to capitalize on Boba Fett hype. The famous bounty hunter is one of the more marketable characters in all of Star Wars, despite his limited screen time. As such, there should be great interest in Mandalorian merchandise, and EFX and Chronicle have one of the best products.
In a press release, Chronicle Collectibles announced they will be the exclusive U.S. retailer for EFX’s Mandalorian prop helmet. The replica will be available for pre-order on October 4, coinciding with Triple Force Friday. The price is $699, and a display stand and certificate of authenticity is included. It will ship out during fourth-quarter 2019. People interested can purchase the helmet from either chroniclecollectibles.com or efxcollectibles.com.
EFX already has an impressive lineup of pop culture collectibles from Star Wars, the MCU, Blade Runner 2049, and Power Rangers. As far as Star Wars is concerned, their other products include Darth Vader’s burned helmet, Han Solo’s dice, stormtrooper replica helmets, and more. The company is known for making their products as screen authentic as possible, and the Mandalorian helmet is no exception. It was made using the original molds from the show and is “hand-painted to replica every detail.” From the sound of it, this would be a fine addition to any fans’ collection.
EFX’s prop replica helmet will be one of many Mandalorian products available this weekend for Triple Force Friday. In late September, Disney held the global reveal, showcasing action figures, Funko Pops, and other collectible. No matter what a fan’s preference is, they’re bound to find something up their alley. And with The Mandalorian season 2 already being developed, this is just the beginning of what could be a merchandising goldmine for the Mouse House.
